Motion Graphic Research

We see motion graphics everyday without even realising it. They're everywhere such as on television, DVD interfaces and movie titles.

Motion Graphics are used greatly on TV. Television channels will often use idents to remind their audience what channel they are watching. The idents will usually feature the name of the channel in a unique way on the screen and will use a piece of music or even a couple of sounds that the audience will always recognise. Even if you are in the other room to the TV you will know what channel it's on!

Television programmes and the News will often use TV titles at the beginning of their showing. The programmes usually include their logo, cast and crew member names, music and shots of where the show is set. The opening sequence will always set the mood and tone of the programme.

Music videos will often use Motion Graphics to give them an added element to the usual performance and narrative videos.

For my motion graphics sequence I have decided to do a lyric music video. I decided on this by looking at different lyric music videos on Youtube. Lyric music videos will often be released before the artist's official music video. They include the lyrics to the songs moving in various directions in different sizes and fonts. Images accompany the lyrics which will also move. I like this idea because I love music so I will find it enjoyable. Here are some examples of popular lyrics videos.

Firstly I have to choose which song I am going to make the lyric music video for. I will choose one that doesn't already have a lyric video so I know my ideas will be 100% original. I need to research the lyrics to the music video I choose and make sure I understand the mood of the video so I can fit my motion graphics to it appropriately.
